Hello, I’m Bryan Enticott and a very warm welcome to my Grand National website. Since the age of about five, when I used to watch Red Rum winning on the TV whilst sat at home on the arm of my dear old Dad’s armchair, I have always been fascinated by the colour, noise, drama and excitement that is Aintree and The Grand National.
Over the past 40 years of colour Television coverage in particular, I have collected many records, tapes, facts and information from each renewal including my speciality, the silks from every Jockey to take part.
This site quite simply is my personal attempt to do the big race justice, which bar a couple of noble efforts is sadly lacking on the internet until now, and to bring to you these 40 years of colour in one exciting and well presented forum. If you have got this far then I hope it is everything you were expecting and that you find it informative, entertaining and useful.
Who am I, well my early background is as a Publicans son based down in the heart of the West Country in Somerset. Since my days in a pub I have enjoyed a 20 year career in House Building and I now enjoy running my own Sporting Hospitality Business with my wife Caroline and some of my Cricketing friends from Somerset County Cricket Club. ‘An anorak with a personality, if you like!’
Since starting the business we have got to know all the big Racehorse Trainers from the area very well, including Champion Trainer and Cheltenham Gold Cup 1-2-3 Paul Nicholls along with Grand National winners Martin and David Pipe. I hope to give you a flavour of their thoughts, and many others, over the forthcoming months as we build up each year to another wonderful annual spectacle which can only be uniquely supplied to a worldwide audience by Aintree and The Grand National.
All the best
Bryan
